"My Favorite Childhood Memory"

I have a lot of childhood memories. I mean I don't know where to begin. To be honest, I don't have a favorite childhood memory. As you may notice about me that I don't favor a lot of things. I was not a girlie girl type that liked to play with baby dolls, doll houses, etc. I mean don't get me wrong. I like playing with dolls and such, but that was not on my top activities list. I was the type that liked to play basketball, ride my bike, play teacher, etc. My sisters use to call me weird because I enjoy doing the opposite of what a young girl should be doing. I mean that was just how I was. I was very active in my childhood days. I guess that is why my son is so active. I can remember the bbq's and the music playing in the yard. Other kids from the neighborhood came to join us almost every day. We had a blast back then.

Sometimes I wish that we can take a step back in time to our youth days. Those days were precious to me. The summer days were not too hot. The temperature was just right to play and run outside. I remember playing kickball, basketball, and even sometimes baseball, but our number one sports were basketball and kickball. Ok, you know that I live out in the country, so our courtyard was nothing but dirt. We will get all dirty and nasty, but we didn't care. All we cared about was having a good time. And that just what we did.

Gosh, I really do wish that I can go back in time and just redo everything again. Just by me thinking about my childhood memories puts a big smile on my face. I try to let me son enjoy the good old countryside the same way that I did. It is amazing how fast we grow up. I mean where does the time go? I can truely say that no matter how fast time went, I enjoyed every minute, second, and hour of it. Well, this is it until next time. Enjoy.

"Where I wished I lived"

There is no place I rather be or live besides the country. I don't want to live nowhere else, but at Prairie, MS. This is my hometown. This is where I grew up. I want my child to be as country as I am. Let me tell you what I do like to wish for. I like to have a big, fancy house out in the country. I don't wish to live in the big cities or towns. All I want is the country. As I mention in my first blog, I am a country girl. It's just something about big houses in the country that makes me go crazy. It makes me feel so at ease.

The country is a place where you can explore different things. I mean you can have bbq's along with music playing. It doesn't matter how loud it be because it is the country. You can drive four wheelers, dirt bikes, go carts, motorcycles and even ride horses out in the country. You can even explore nature. The country is a fun place to live only if you make it a place of fun.

Can you picture a big house in the country with a white fence and a big front and back yard? There is no place I rather live than where I am now. But if I ever decide to go anywhere else out of the state of Mississippi, I would choose the country side of the city. That's how much I love the country. It is all about the country baby!  I would pick the country any day. This is it until next time. Enjoy.

Anne B. Henly

I lost my grandmother in the year of 2009. The year 2009 was a blessing and a curse. The blessing of the year was that I graduated from high school and had my beautiful, handsome son. The curse of the year was when I lost my grandmother. My grandmother's death was the most devastating thing that I could of ever happen to my family and I. My grandmother was a very special person to our family. She was a strong, independent woman who would never tell you anything wrong. She also was a loveable person who loved everybody.

Sometimes at night, I dream about her. I think a lot about that night at West Point hospital when my grandmother became very ill. She was so bad off sick that they had to transfer her to Tupelo Medical Center. Did I mention that my grandmother was a diabetic? There at Tupelo Medical Center my grandmother died a peaceful death on October 6, 2009. I can remember on the way home from Tupelo, I looked up at the midnight sky and saw that the moon was a funny looking color. It was a color of a dark orange, redish color. It also was a full moon that night. The color of the moon scared me so badly, even though the moon be certain colors on different nights. I guess that I was scared because I lost my grandmother that night. That month was just an aweful month for my family.

My mother took it real hard. My mother and my grandmother were very close. My mother, whose name is Linda by the way, was so shocked when she found out that her mother had passed away. My grandmother meant everything to our family. Every time that I look into my Mom's face I can see my grandmother. She looks just like her. I miss her a lot. The whole family misses her. I know that she is in a better place now. She will forever be in my heart. This is it until next time. Enjoy.

A Song I Can't Live Without

Do you have a favorite song that you absolutely cannot live without? Well, let me tell you about a song that I cannot live without. Oh wait, I don't have a song that I can't live without. Let me tell you why. The reason why I don't have a song that I cannot live without is because I have too many songs that I can't live without. There are so many songs in this world that I absolutely love and enjoy to listen to over and over again. I just cannot pick just one song out of a million on my favorite list. It just will not happen with me. Sorry. I can give you a top three countdown of my three of my favorite songs that I absolutely adore to listen too.

My number three most favorite song is Heal the World by Michael Jackson. This song touches my heart in so many ways. Michael Jackson speaks to me through this song. This is a song that can make you think about a lot of things that goes on in the world. It sends out a message to us humans to let us know the world is in bad shape right now and we need to make it better. Let's stop the violence people! Seriously, this song is very inspirational and we need to do better to make this world better. One person just cannot do it alone. We need to work together as a team. I am just saying...

My number two most favorite song is Greatest Love of All by Whitney Houston. This song is very inspirational and motivational. Whitney speaks to the world with this song along with Michael Jackson. I remember in high school my chorus teacher had us to sing this song for weeks before switching it up to a new song. I didn't mind singing it over and over again because it is a very powerful song. You got to admit that Whitney Houston voice is priceless and she makes any song sound good, but it is not just about her voice that makes the song sound good it is the message through the song. You got to love it.

My number one most favorite song is Never Would Have Made It by Marvin Sapp. This song brightens up my whole day. When I feel my lowest, I will listen to this song and a smile comes back on my face. This song reminds me that God would never put anything on us that we cannot bear. This song can help motivate somebody who needs encouraging words. I absolutely love this song.

Hmmm, do you see something very strange about my top three countdown? Well if you don't see what I see then let me tell you what is strange about it. My top three favorite songs is all inspirational songs. We need inspiration every once in a while. I know I can. Whelp, this brings an end to my blog for today until next time. Enjoy.
